Winners of Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service 2004
Press Release Call for Volunteers - 3rd June 2009

BlindVoice UK a Stockton based National Charity is desperately in need of volunteers mainly for its social activities. SocialEyes is a group of 30 members and meets at the Yarm Road Office every Wednesday. It is really important that blind people are able to go on outings with the group, as for some, especially those living on their own; it’s sometimes the only people they see all week. With the lovely weather the group have lots of outings planned eg a trip to Whitby on the bus or train, Durham Cathedral and sometimes just an afternoon out at the Castle Eden Walkway. We do need a lot of support to make these trips safe as well as enjoyable so if you think you have got what it takes to make a difference to blind people and can spare a few hours every week then we are looking for you!
For further details on volunteering or attending the social can be found by calling Christine Durnion on 01642 803590 or by e-mail christine.durnion@blindvoice.co.uk.
