Funding Support for a Local Charity

BlindVoice UK On 31st March BlindVoice UK received a cheque for £1600 as a result of a hard year of fundraising from Soroptimist International of Stockton-on-Tees, a worldwide organisation for professional women.

Joyce Chesney, retired Reference Librarian said “It has been a privilege to raise money for Blind Voice UK during my Presidential year and everyone, our members, friends and supporters, has been incredibly generous enabling us to raise £1,600, which, in the current economic climate, is amazing. It has also made us more aware of the problems faced by visually impaired people and of the great work being done by BlindVoice on their behalf.”

Manager Christine Durnion said “The fundraising trail has been a series of well organised events that have been quite innovative, including garden parties and an auction, and we are very grateful that Joyce has chosen us for her presidential year”
